Taking Care of Myself

Taking Care of Myself

There are times when managing multiple responsibilities feels like juggling a dozen balls simultaneously. It’s simple to feel overwhelmed by the amount of work, extracurricular activities, academics, and social life you have to maintain. However, I’ve come to understand that putting my health first and developing resilience is essential for overcoming the difficulties of college life. Well-being implies having a wide range of positive emotions. Being happy and having a balance is just as important as staying healthy. I’ve developed several self-care techniques. I make sure to eat a balanced diet, work out frequently, and get adequate sleep. I feel better and have more energy after doing these small things.

Developing a healthy work-life balance is one of the most important things I’ve learned. I used to ignore other aspects of my life, like hobbies, downtime, and spending time with loved ones, in favour of playing football, studying, and working on assignments all the time. However, I quickly realized that this imbalance was negatively affecting both my physical and emotional well-being. I’ve been able to improve my life’s balance by adopting limits and providing time for both work and extracurricular hobbies. Making time for enjoyable activities has been crucial to sustaining my general well-being, whether that be walking, hanging out with friends, or engaging in a hobby.

Another important period I’ve learned is resilience. It involves getting back up after hardship. As an introvert, I’ve had difficulties in university, such as coming up in front of the class and presenting but I know that I have to get through this or else I am not going to advance in academic or personal life. I make an effort to stay positive and maintain a positive attitude instead of giving up. Every time I overcome an obstacle, I get more confident and stronger.

Thinking positively has been helpful to me on my path to resilience and well-being. I used to obsess over bad ideas and failures, which frequently made me feel hopeless and sad. But since then, I’ve discovered how to change my perspective and concentrate on the advantages. I now see challenges as chances for learning and progress rather than as impenetrable barriers. I’ve developed resilience that enables me to rise above failures and endure in the face of difficulties by adopting an upbeat mentality and having faith in my capacity to overcome adversity (McGrath Helen, 2011).

In conclusion, adopting resilience and well-being first has helped me get through the highs and lows of university. By attaining an appropriate work-life equilibrium, giving adequate thought to mental health, and cultivating a positive attitude, I have succeeded in my academic, personal, and professional endeavours. I will continue to put my resilience and general well-being first as I travel this path since I understand how important they are to obtaining success and enjoyment in every aspect of life.
